This Privacy Policy explains how PakNet VPN ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use our mobile app and related services. It is designed to comply with Google Play Developer Program Policies and Apple App Store privacy requirements.

By using PakNet VPN, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of our services.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the data necessary to provide and improve our VPN service. We do not collect data for purposes beyond what is disclosed below.

Contact Information

  • Email address — Required for account creation, authentication, and support communications
  • Username — Display name chosen during registration

Identifiers

  • User ID — Internal account identifier used to link your devices and subscription
  • Device ID — Anonymous device identifier used for session management and troubleshooting

Usage Data

  • App version and platform (Android/iOS) — For compatibility and support
  • Connection timestamps — To enforce session limits and fair usage
  • Bandwidth usage per session — For plan enforcement and service optimization
  • Selected server location — For load balancing and connecting to your chosen region

Purchase History

  • Subscription status and transaction references — To manage your premium access and renewals
  • Payment provider transaction IDs — For billing support and reconciliation

Diagnostics

  • Crash data — Anonymized crash reports to identify and fix bugs
  • Performance data — App launch time, latency metrics, and energy usage (aggregated only)

Customer Support

  • Messages, attachments, and information you voluntarily share when contacting our support team

Data We Do NOT Collect

PakNet VPN operates a strict no-logging policy. We do not collect, log, or store:

  • Your browsing history, DNS queries, or websites visited while connected to our VPN
  • Content of your communications, messages, or data transmitted through the VPN tunnel
  • Your original IP address while connected to our VPN servers
  • Connection logs, traffic logs, or session metadata beyond what is listed above
  • Contacts, calendar data, photos, SMS, call logs, or any device-stored personal files
  • Precise location data (GPS) — we do not request or collect location permissions
  • Browsing history, search history, or social media data

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected data exclusively for the following purposes:

  • App Functionality: Account authentication, VPN connection establishment, session management, subscription verification, and feature delivery
  • Product Personalization: Remembering your selected server region and app preferences
  • Analytics: Aggregated, anonymized performance monitoring to improve app stability and user experience
  • Customer Support: Responding to your inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and processing support requests
  • Security and Fraud Prevention: Detecting and preventing abuse, unauthorized access, and policy violations

We do not use your data for third-party advertising, marketing, or any form of behavioral tracking.

3. Tracking and Advertising

PakNet VPN does not track users across apps or websites owned by other companies. We do not use advertising SDKs, share data with data brokers, or engage in targeted advertising of any kind.

The app contains no third-party ads. We do not collect or use data for advertising or marketing purposes. Data collected from our app is not linked with third-party data for advertising measurement or cross-app tracking.

4. Payment Processing

We do not process or store payment card details on our servers. All payment transactions are handled securely by the platform's payment system:

  • iOS (Apple In-App Purchase): Subscriptions are processed entirely through Apple's App Store. Account sign-up is not mandatory before purchase on iOS. Apple handles all payment data; we only receive a transaction receipt confirming your subscription status.
  • Android (Google Play Billing & Stripe): On Android, account registration is required before purchasing a plan. Payments are processed through Google Play Billing or Stripe (credit card, Google Pay). We receive only transaction references and subscription status — never raw card numbers, CVC codes, or bank details.

5. Third-Party Services

Our app integrates with the following third-party services that may process data as necessary to provide their services:

  • Apple Inc. — App Store, In-App Purchase, and optional Sign in with Apple
  • Google LLC — Google Play Store, Google Play Billing, and Firebase Crashlytics (anonymized crash reporting)
  • Stripe Inc. — Payment processing for Android purchases (PCI-DSS compliant)

These third parties have their own privacy policies governing data handling. We recommend reviewing their policies for complete information.

6. Permissions

PakNet VPN requests only the permissions essential for VPN functionality:

  • VpnService (Android): Used exclusively to establish a secure, encrypted tunnel to our VPN servers. No traffic is redirected, modified, or intercepted for any purpose other than providing VPN connectivity. The user must explicitly consent before the VPN is activated.
  • Notifications (optional): Used to display connection status updates and important account notifications (e.g., subscription expiry).

We do not request SMS, Call Log, Contacts, Location, Camera, Microphone, or Storage permissions. The app does not have access to these device features.

7. Account Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data directly from the app:

  1. Open the PakNet VPN app
  2. Go to Profile tab
  3. Tap on Account Details
  4. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account
  5. Confirm the deletion when prompted

Alternatively, you can submit a deletion request from our website at Delete Account page.

Upon deletion, your account, personal information, subscription data, device associations, and usage records are permanently removed from our active systems within 30 days. Billing transaction records may be retained for the period required by tax laws. VPN session logs are not retained per our no-logging policy.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we permanently delete all associated data within 30 days of your request, except where we are legally required to retain certain information (such as billing records for tax purposes, retained for the period required by applicable law).

9. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

  • VPN tunnel encryption using WireGuard protocol with ChaCha20 encryption
  • Account passwords are hashed and salted using bcrypt
  • All API communications are encrypted via HTTPS/TLS
  • Access controls and authentication for server infrastructure
  • Regular security reviews and updates

10. Children's Privacy

PakNet VPN is not directed at individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child under 16 has provided us with personal data, we will take immediate steps to delete it. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

11. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Right to Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your data (subject to legal obligations)
  • Right to Restrict Processing: Limit how we use your data
  • Right to Data Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Right to Object: Object to certain processing activities
